Title: Re: Highlander Post by lesterlad aka Rodders on Jan 31st, 2012, 1:37pm Sorry, not heard from him for many weeks now. Maybe he's busy helping rebuild Hadrian's wall ready for when Scotland goes independent. ;D |

Title: Re: Highlander Post by gozz on Jan 31st, 2012, 1:44pm I heard that Cameron was having a big wall built all the way round Scotland, then he will fill it with water ;D |

Title: Re: Highlander Post by L6ENY on Jan 31st, 2012, 4:45pm ;D ;D Sounds like something the mad jock would be doing ;D not like Stuart not to be lurking around on the forum though, hope he is OK, Len. |

Title: Re: Highlander Post by Matt on Jan 31st, 2012, 6:13pm Stuart has not posted for a good while, nor answered pm's and all attempts to contact him by various members have failed, he has been active on another forum however Sadly he has caused a fair bit if anger laterly with some members for reasons that i shall not discuss on an open forum, nor will i discuss them with anybody who hasnt been 'involved' so to speak, but i do know he has been invited to explain a few things but so far has declined the offer. |

Title: Re: Highlander Post by Highlander on Feb 1st, 2012, 10:40am Still here ;D Apologies, I have not logged on for a long time. Matt, bit confused here, not sure what members I have angered, or indeed what, when or by whom I was "invited to explain a few things and declined"?? This is all news to me, no one has contacted me with any problems or complaints. Could you possibly pm me the details so that I can sort it out? I know I was supposed to drop off some parts to Dave2302 before Christmas (that I've had for ages!) and unfortunately didn't manage it so I do owe Dave an apology and still need to arrange that but I have had no contact from anyone else via pm, email or phone. Since I last logged on in late November I have had pm's left by: Amigafan : I promised him a set of arch liners Goldie : asking about diffs Angie : Thanking me for sending her an aircon pump Leewar : asking me if I was ok Howke : (question asked to multiple recipients) I have had no emails until this morning when I got one from Snoopy asking if I was ok (hence I came back on here to show face) Nor have I had any phone calls from "angered" people. Lenny, my number may have changed since I last spoke to you? I hop around the tariffs every year or so. My number is 07879 715002 (don't mind posting it, its all over the tinterweb) although I now work in an office or on site with customers and drive a lot so its often on silent or off but I will answer if possible or at least reply to messages or texts left. I have got myself quite seriously into the world of offroading and the Scorpios (or at least the forum) has fallen by the wayside (as have most other things). I also managed to get my hands on an old MK3 Transit County 4x4, something I have been after for many years. This is now in the middle of a major restoration into an offroading camper. I've finally got the two 4x4 Sierra's on the road And I also now have a boat, a new house, a huge garden (I hate gardening) and now building a double garage I've got back into tropical fishkeeping in a big way, I have 13 fish tanks in the house (I think I have OCD, I can't just do one of anything!) I get a grip of a new project and go at it 100% and neglect everything else. I've done it in the past with the offroading and the Suzuki has sat for 6 months without even being looked at (I now have 4 Suzuki Samurais) now I've done it with the Scorpios and have got out of the habit of logging onto the forum as my first port of call but I still drive one every day ;D Luckily I have managed to avoid the clutches of any females for the last few years so I have been getting on with life my way without spending my weekends close to tears being dragged around shopping centres ;D So yes, recently I have been frequenting the offroading / Sierra / fishkeeping / Transit forums and neglecting the old Scorpio forum but I'm still here. apologies to anyone I may have upset, please pm me if theres still anything I need to do for anyone I am very forgetful, I do too much at the one time and I do need prodding regularly to get things done! Just remembered Tenfut! I was supposed to send you a bit for a sunroof months ago Tony! :-[ If I've forgotten anyone else please send me a pm/email or call me and i'll sort it out. So much to do and so little time! ;D Right... off to start building that wall.... ;D |

Title: Re: Highlander Post by Highlander on Feb 1st, 2012, 4:16pm Ok, it appears someone has sent me a cheque for £15 which has been cashed as payment for a foglight which they never received?? Does anyone know who this is or when it happened? I have no recollection of it at all, most of my money deals are made through paypal and there is nothing in my pm history relating to a foglight..:o I have searched my bank account and the last cheques I paid in were last June for the Harewood tickets... Oh and one for £2.57 (a huge shares dividend) ;D Who was it? and was it definitely me you sent the cheque to? |

Title: Re: Highlander Post by Scorpio_Mike on Feb 1st, 2012, 7:34pm Good to have you back. How is that Scorpio 4x4 project going ? Nice Transit - not seen one of those for a while - what engine / gearbox setup does it use ? |
Title: Re: Highlander Post by Highlander on Feb 2nd, 2012, 9:21am Scorpio 4x4 is the slowest running project in the world ;D I look at it now and again but always seem to have something better to do ;D Transit is the old 2.5 Di non turbo job fitted to the standard MT75 box, the 4x4 system works via a transfer box connected to the gearbox by a short prop. http://i39.tinypic.com/mac7r7.jpg |
Title: Re: Highlander Post by lesterlad aka Rodders on Feb 2nd, 2012, 10:49am That transfer box seems a fair way back from the gearbox. Is it constant 4WD like the Granada 4x4 was or can it be switched to 2WD ? |
Title: Re: Highlander Post by Highlander on Feb 2nd, 2012, 11:25am Separate gearlever for the transfer box so can be used in: 2wd High (rwd) like a normal Transit 4wd High 4wd Low |
Title: Re: Highlander Post by Matt on Feb 2nd, 2012, 6:57pm Sound like the same transfer the ford maverick had but that was grafted on the back of the gear box |
Title: Re: Highlander Post by Highlander on Feb 3rd, 2012, 10:42am probably very similar, it uses the NP208 transfer case used in a huge amount of American stuff, Ford, Chevy, Jeep etc The transfer case and front axle for this model Transit were actually lifted straight out the Ford Bronco. Its basic but it works very well, no electronics in this beastie ;D |
Title: Re: Highlander Post by Matt on Feb 3rd, 2012, 11:47am Didnt network rail (or what ever its called this week) have a fleet of the 4x4 transits for track work? They use jacked up ivecos now, seen.a few parked up at a conversion center close to where i work, The 2 ivecos i saw had huge off road tyres lol |
