You saying that I had to go & check I was right, they’re 15’s - a trick of the camera/light the tyres don’t look as fat as 15’s.
The 12 spokes are back on now.

The size needs to be 640/480 and these seem well within that limit. The 'rules' are at the end of the post in How to do Things entitled 'Pictures in Posts'.
It is not wise to offend 'Snoopy' !!. ;D

24v innit......If ya go too fast the flux capacitor kicks in and the air pressure redesigns them.  ;D

Dan,
The Autosol has done a nice job.  8)
It has a passing resemblance to a Mondeo's grille.
I wouldn't park it near sand though, the cats will try to bury it ;D

::) Ok guys you will make me cry  :'(  ;D Yeah thanks Adam i am happy with how the autosol has worked. As for the front we are going to get a new grill dont like the one on it me and matt were looking at it and we dont think it is from a mondeo just based on the shape. It has mg zr/rover 45 lights WORK DONE BY BODYWORK COMPANY IN WALES. PREVIOUS OWNER NOT US!! He didnt like the front so he changed it. We just brought it because we havnt owned a 24v yet and this one was going cheap with 12months MOT and half the miles of our last one. It doesnt look too bad looks more modern (although today that might not be a good thing). Oh and adam was the 1 i knew about who didnt like it  ;D Hoping to attend some shows soon so hopefully see some of you there.
Dan

Looks like a renault grill to me.

i dont think the grill is off anything, looks like heavey duty plastic coated mesh, with some chrome detailing, theres no 'backing' to it so doubt it been robbed off another car.

You really need to see the car in the flesh, its like the standard car, looks really good in most angles but some its a bit awkard

Personally i like it but it doesnt matter what we think, so long as Dan and family are happy with it thats all that matters  ;D

You asked for opinions...here's mine. Ahem.
I don't think there's anything wrong with the standard frog eye cheshire cat grin of the Scorp, so for that reason I'm out.

Bloody good effort nevertheless, and I lurve that inlet manifold. Autosol you say? Applied with what...brush, cloth, wire wool..???
More info please. Going to have a go at posting a picture but my patience is thin if it's not simply a drag and drop, so don't hold your breath. When we get computers in the future all this will be soooo easy.http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/YaBBImages/angry.gif
And I've got an iMac, that's supposed to be even easierer. We'll see.http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/YaBBImages/huh.gif

Daniel.....

Don't change the front. I think it looks brilliant. I would have been tempted (for a nonosecond) to flog my S Class and buy it!!!

Seriously though, I personally have never really been keen on the pre-facelift Scorpio and having owned a load of S Reg Facelift 24v's over the years I always liked the later look.... Yours take the facelift to the next level

Careful!
Nuts and bolts are measured 'across flats' and that is the spanner size required.
But the thread size is much smaller:  for these nuts on the inlet manifold cover that we are considering here, they are 10mm A/F, which is an M6 bolt (or in this case, a stud).
So don't go and buy a handful of M10 nuts. I think it would be immediately obvious you had the wrong size if you did...as these are 17mm A/F.

It's all written down and fixed and ever more shall be so. If you need to look the sizes up, get yourself a set of Zeus tables, a little pocket sized booklet full of wonderful engineering wonderfulness. Or go mad and invest in Machinery's Handbook...haha if it's still published....oh and don't forget we had it sorted here in Blighty with a perfectly functioning imperial set of standards using 1/16ths - 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8 and so on (as you will see in your socket set) and this was fine until we lost it completely and went metric. Then the trouble started.
See where my signature tag below comes from? Don't get me started......:-)

;D thanks jeff  ;D
I think they are 10mm M6 thread
Bag of 10 for £1.47 i think from b&q but im going to take one off in the car park and compare them before i buy. Found them in my dads various tradepoint/screwfix books being a property maintenance man there are loads in the cupboard  ;D

Title: Re: Show Us Your Scorpio (s) 2
Post by Jeff on Jun 19th, 2012, 10:57pm
Yes, you are quite right, but don't refer to them as 10mm - that's only the spanner (A/F) size. It's M6 nuts you need, and I would try and get stainless steel if you can. Or if you really want to go mad, see if you can get titanium ones. The key to my Nissan 300ZX is titanium.
So that's good then, innit  :P

Oh and by the way, got me a tube of Autosol today.....

Title: Re: Show Us Your Scorpio (s) 2
Post by Mike H on Jun 20th, 2012, 1:15pm
I meant of course 10mm A/F (across flats), that'd be 6mm thread then. ;D

Nice one Jeff for getting your Autosol good luck with it mate  (got your wire wool?) ;D Let me know how you get on. I took some photos before and after so you can see the real difference if youve got a camera that is ;) I might try some titanium ones but if they are too much i will just get stainless.
