Title: Website sticker for number plate Post by Daniel on Jun 4th, 2012, 7:35pm Hi all Just a quick question prob for admin. On our 24v it has PERKIES COSSIE written across the bottom of the number plates ::) So i have been looking for somthing to go over it like a sticker and found this shop http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shop-customize-logo-letter-number-vinyl-car-web-email-sticker-window-door-banner-/270982496500?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Decorative_Accents_LE&hash=item3f17d0c0f4 I was thinking of asking for www.fordscorpio.co.uk to cover it. Before i ask for a quote and to see if they can do it i thought best to get your permission first. Just going to have a yellow background on back and white on front with text in black. ;) I wont do anything until someone from admin say its ok. Dan ;D |

Title: Re: Website sticker for number plate Post by Scorpio_Mike on Jun 4th, 2012, 8:25pm I think it is actually illegal for anything to be on a number plate except, obviously the vehicle registration number, EU, UK or similar flag on the left hand side and the details of the number plate supplier. Anything else and it becomes a 'Show plate' - i.e. not legal for use on the public highway. |

Title: Re: Website sticker for number plate Post by Daniel on Jun 5th, 2012, 5:03pm Ive just had a thought :o ;D Would custom text on the number plate fail a mot. Ours had its MOT May 5th 2012 and passed ??? or would it depend on the tester. Dan ;D |

Title: Re: Website sticker for number plate Post by adam on Jun 5th, 2012, 5:26pm I believe the only text allowed is postcode of new plate manufacturer etc.. However, an understanding tester may overlook certain imperfections ::) Saying that I was pulled over twice in two days on the M6 for illegal plates. Two weeks after passing an MOT with them on. I was giving seven days to rectify without any fine. This may not always be the case. My advice would be to get standard/legal plates and avoid any hassle. |

Title: Re: Website sticker for number plate Post by Mike H on Jun 5th, 2012, 9:07pm Mine's still the old style (no blue EU bit) with the last dealer's name underneath, no "complaints" yet. Always still a possibilty of course. |
