Title: Alternator
Post by Andycan on Jun 24th, 2012, 11:51pm
Hi everyone I wondered if the very clever among you could possibly tell me what a Quinton Hazell alternator FRA 931 would fit please?

A friend has just found a brand new one still boxed in her dead uncles garage.

Many thanks Andy

Andy, This (http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4GGLL_enGB351GB352&q=quinton+hazell+part+FRA931) is a Google search and one site has a list of alternatives IF you can find the part number of yours. Another site mentions BMW and Opel. Try a call to QH ?.  :)

Hi Gozz the uncle had several old classic cars he had restoresd such as a Triumph herald and Ford zodiac. This is for a modern car.

I might add that it seems the family tried to sell these cars on ebay but people offered stupid money such as £250 each when they were in showroom condition and mot'd  so the family scrapped them stupid people lol. I am in mourning now for these cars as I was too late to find them good homes but have found some of the complete documentation for them and some of tools that the family have scattered around their garages so not all is lost as a bloke round the corner is very grateful for the bits I have found for his triumph herald that he has restored.

Thanks simmo I will have a look and ask at our local motor factors as a last resort lol.

Thanks everyone. Mike I said the same thing they say they wanted £1000 for each vehicle but no one wanted to part with their money and as they had sold the house they had to get rid of them quckly and the scrappy was the only one that would do that.

I would hazzard a guess that the scrappy mad a very nice profit selling them on but I have all their history back to their 1st service and all the tax discs lol.

They were going to throw the alternator away and it is brand new. They were going to throw all the tools away but I said I would have them and there are enough tools to fill my scorpio 2 or 3 times over with the seats down lol. It is going to take years to sort everything out as it is spread around 5 houses and the garages so a long term job lol.
