Title: Battery Covers
Post by lesterlad aka Rodders on Jun 28th, 2012, 9:17pm
Hope you all had your battery covers on during today's torrential rainstorms.
I have never seen a storm like the one today in all my living memory, the thunder was deafening, hailstones as big as plums and the end of my road was flooded 6in deep kerb to kerb for the first time in the 15yrs I've lived here.

LOL, The so called global warming certainly made me sweat today Gozz.

Torrential rain and cowboy builders don't go together

This is what I was called out to 'fix' this afternoon by my ex employer.

Pffft....!

Darn sarf-East been hot and muggy last couple of days, much cooler today thank gawd, currently radio 2 news etc. is full of the devastation up North East, apparently the jet stream is the wrong shape for this time of year.

One bloke was waiting outside a car sprayer's to get his old motor repainted, then the heavens opened and this car and his other old one (still at home I presume) were literally destroyed by hailstones. Like somebody had gone all over them with hammers. They're now scrap http://livinginthepast-audioweb.co.uk/images/misc/surprised.gif

As well the bloke who died trying to wade a flood, only a foot or two deep, still it swept him away head-on into a telegraph pole or something, killed him.

The South east water co. still have theirs on as the majority of the supply comes from underground aquifiers and they are still not up to capacity although there is an improvement. :)
