Post by rich1 on Nov 2nd, 2012, 8:49pm
Has anyone ever used a product called greased lightning? My old man got some for me and ive got say its fantastic stuff , they pretty much cover all the stuff you need to clean your motor . It really does make the car shine and the window cleaner is the nuts . As is the wheel cleaner . If anyone is intrested check out the website ,www.greasedlightning.co.uk , (i think thats right) and you get 10% off your first order , btw i really recommend the leather cleaner

Rich, I've heard it mentioned but haven't tried it myself yet - probably will at some point though :).

To be honest, I've tried pretty much every brand out there over the past few yars (Jofs, Meguiars, Mer, down to the mainstream stuff like Simoniz, Carplan, Turtle Wax etc etc), but nothing works as well for me as Autoglym - not the easiest stuff to use, but by far the best in my experience. A coat of high-def wax 2 or 3 times a year, after clay bar/super resin/surface cleanser as needed, then shampoo/conditioner and a spray of rapid detailer to bring back the shine/protect the wax finish. I'm always getting asked by people at college/work if my cars are really as old as the reg because they look so clean, maybe it's just my car detailing obsession biting deeper as I'm getting older :)

I used to polish my cars to death but try not to now because over time it wears the paint thickness down, wax coating works good as long as you're careful not to score the paint when you wash it.

Bruce.
