Title: For those in the far north
Post by lesterlad aka Rodders on Dec 19th, 2012, 8:29am
Well, for all you people up in the far north someone has finally realised when it comes to delivery costs you are being ripped off, as we folk down south are when we send parcels up there.

It's not just Scotland though, I sent a parcel to the Isle of Man last week weighing 1.2kilo and was charged £6.50 for standard delivery.
And it took a week to get there. >:(

Yep.   Happens to me all the time.   I'm in an IV postcode and regularly 'loaded' for parcels.   Mind-you, if an on-line company advertises anywhere that they deliver FREE to all UK mainland areas, I always insist on FREE delivery!   There has been many many times when on-line companies have advertised this, and then told me to read the small-print regarding Highlands and Islands.   In EVERY circumstance I have contacted the local Trading-Standard office, they have in turn looked-up the web-site, then contacted the seller to TELL them to supply me with the goods free of postage.   Course the seller isn't happy, and in some cases contacted me to say they won't sell to me again.   Big-Deal!   On the other side of the coin, one chooses where one lives, and realistically it's a long journey after the border.   It would take anyone Five hours more of driving to get to me from the border.
