Hi all
Just wondering if anyone knows the weight in tons of a scopio 24v saloon? Just figuring out transporter costs to collect one.

Hi Daniel I think it is about 1 3/4 tons roughly

best to over estimate a little, i normally say 1.8 tons (there around 1.6ish)

I've a mate with a scrap-yard, and my 2.3 weighs in at just on 1680kg, so quoting 1800 kg should be enough.

You should be able to find car transportation services on ebay ;)

If you are considering hiring a trailer to tow with a car on it don't forget to factor in the weight of the trailer :o

You also need to consider if your driving licence covers you to tow a trailer of that size & weight.

Thanks for info i have found a few on ebay, apperently it has to be a 7.5t truck bacause of the 24v weight takes vans over the limit ::) the car might even drive back its just abit risky.

How far have you got to move it ?
24v is not that much heavier than the 16v versions, would not have thought weight an issue for a car transportation business, they must move other stuff around that weight surely.

I've towed cars on trailers before with a Mk2 Granada estate without issue, even towed a trailer 250 miles to pick up a bare bodyshell and then 250 miles back on the same day with my 2.3 Scorpio [ Currently garaged, not in use :'( ]
