Does the seller have a clue what he is talking about?
Calls it an Ultimate and says the clutch is slipping!

It could just be that the autobox fluid is low if the buyer was very lucky

In the past I had a problem with my 1st 24v which would not lock in o/d and when I put my foot down the revs rose but no accelleration- justlike a clutch slipping. Had to have the box rebuilt as the overdrive "band"? was broken.

Ultima were also built with a manual gear box ;)

However yes it does appear he means its a brake band slipping in this case
