Does anyone know who makes the remote key fob we need for our Scorpio's as it may be worth getting in touch with them and asking how much they are for a bulk order and how many do we need to buy as a minimum order. As i'm an ex market trader i know that everything has it's price at a certain volume of purchase so it must be worth a try anyway.

I have asked this before,why not a group buy from a FMD,they will have no problem bettering the normal trade discount on this item of 10%.

Sounds like a good idea. I remember someone last year got about 15-20 orders for ODB2 cables and got them at discount for bulk. So its worth a try, we just need to get an idea of quantity.

It would probably be even cheaper if we approach the manufacturer direct, in my experiance even cheaper if you buy unassembled (i.e : all pieces loose and make up yourself) have used this approach before and you can same loads of money.

The company that makes the Scorp remotes is called TRW. They have a website http://www.trw.com/home/main/0,,,FF.html but I cant find any reference to the remotes. They do have contact details though.

They are made in the states, if anyone can arrange anything i have a friend over there who can deal with the postage much cheaper than usual, ive had him send me bits for the countless yanks ive owned and saved a fortune on carriage. he sends stuff as a 'gift' which does away with import duty and vat etc (and that includes an inlet manifold for a V8 Cadillac and a set of brake discs for a chrysler!!)

I have just sent TRW an e-mail describing our needs and about which remote we need in great detail so will keep you all posted as to their response.

I hate to pee on your bonfire but I've contacted TRW several times about these remotes, but have had no replies whatsoever.
Definitely the right people but as has been said, they don't mention our remotes. Maybe Ford have paid for the exclusive rights..?

Is there anyone on this site that knows about electronics maybe they could dismantle an old femote and try and source the parts needed to build one, surely if other members can buld flash on lock mods and other add-ons that i've seen on the site then the remote shouldn't be that hard, what have we got to lose nah nah.
