Title: coldstart problems
Post by scorpio-86 on Apr 17th, 2004, 7:47am
I have a 2.0l SOHC -86 scorpio, with fuel injection..we have just changed the engine to a sierra of the same sort and year.. our old engine always started at once allthow it was cold..

but this "new" one takes approximatly 3min to start, and when i´ve just got it to go and i try to push down the accelerator it wants to die..but after a while when it´s getting hot it goes really good..

we have done compression test both when it´s cold and warm and the compression seems good..
the engine sometimes just dies suddenly when i´m standing in a redlight or something...

anyone who has a solution?
can it be something wrong with the vakuum conections? there were more holes on the scorpio engine than the sierra...but we tried to do our best..hehe..

thanks for all comming help! I really need it!

I think your talking about the Pinto engine and unfortunatly all these Scorpio on this site are of the 95 issue and didnt come with pintos, (TDs 16v & 24v only) I recomend you go to the Granada owners site.

JJ :)

I remember these engines dit have an electronic choke,....worth looking into.
