Hi all !
finally found out what the vibe was on my 20l ghia.
It may be worth everybody whatching out for this one! if you get a vibration under acceleration at any speed, imediately check the 6 bolts that hold the driveshaft to the rubber coupling and the coupling to the gearbox ouput shaft.three of mine had sheared off allowing the driveshaft to wobble! and what a job it was removing the sheared bits of bolt from the threadholes.
it may be worth replacing the bolts before you get the problem(my car started vibes at around 110,000 mile,as a guidline!)
anyone else know any more on this?
                              dart ;)

hi dart,
i to have had vibes, when i changed down the gear stick rattled but not ever time ???looked under car couldnot see anything loose ???found out the other day that the metal ring round the rubber coupling at the front of the prop had come apart :o,so when i changed down the ring would move and hit the gear selector, what a job to get at when exhaust bolts rusted.

Hi Solar!
The large metal ring that you are talking about is a counterweight,(it's an after the fact add on, when years ago fords found out about a strange vibration in the drive shaft of its new granada replacement the scorpio.Since then they have added rubber to that aswell! plus removing the odd "seems to do nothing bar across the back diff coupling"
anyway solar if there is any ,and i mean any movement in that large disc of metal !check the coupling and all around it. you seem to have the same previously unoticed problem as me!this is another ford cross scorps prob Yawwwwwn yet another r r r!
hope you sort it ,let me know ?
                                                                  dart :)
