Title: Possible EGR problem
Post by Malloq on Apr 26th, 2004, 7:08pm
I've looked around in this forum, as well as on the fault finding section of the site. Conclusively, it seems there's something wrong with my EGR. I've also identified that part 2 and part 3 in figure:

is kind of loosly connected. When I push on part 2 (downwards) I see that the pipe below (part 3) does not move. Following, I suppose air can leak here.

Could this lead to a sluggish behaviour on light throttle, and a kind of rough running (as if the engine is coughing) when idle? Sometimes, when cold, the engine just stalls.

Should be a good gas tight seal at all connections .

EGR can be disabled by either disconnecting the plug on the flow sensor (passenger side inner wing-opposite ex.manifold) and/or,unplugging the vacuum pipe on top of the EGR and blocking both the pipe and the EGR.
This should restore a bit of sanity for now.
