Hi,

I ve only just discovered this site and have found it extremely useful, however i wasnt able to find any information on this problem i have. I wonder can any body help.

I have Scorpio 2.0 Auto Estate and the push button (electric controlled) tailgate has stopped working. The only way to get into the back is to use the key to open the tailgate.

I have done the following to try and rectify the problem:-

1. swap the relay (No12) with another of the same type - stilll didnt work

2. checked with a multimeter that the micro switch attached to the tailgate push button works - checked out ok

3. taken the lock solanoid/motor out and put 12v dirrectly onto it - and it worked find.

I havent a circuit diagram for electrics and dont know what else I can do/check. The 12vdoesnt seem to be getting to the micro switch, though I did measure 12v in the fuse/relay box.

As any body any ideas or maybe a circuit diagram ?

try looking for a broken wire where the wiring enters the tail gate.... I know several people have found broken wires her on the saloon so must be similar for the estate.....other wise there is a site for the electrics
