Hey
I own a Scorpio 2.3 from 97
i have a problem with it, the tempgauge is just moving a few millimeters and is not showing the actual temperature. I have dismantled the instumentpanel and checked the gauge from within. I have looked for the temperature sensors on the motor and can not find them. ??? my engine is a 2.3 litres (petrol)
My question is were is the temperature sensors located?
and if anyone o have a good tip how to fix this problem I would be realy thankful.

Hi Goran, temp sensor for dash indicator is on left front of engine block-below thermostat housing.Single wire.

Difficult to get at,remove air inlet pipes to gain better access.

Hi! I have the exact same problem on my Scorpio 2.3 16v estate, but i rekon its the thermostat on mine, as some times in warm weather the temp climbs to nearly normal, other wise when driving at about 13 Celcius Swedish spring temp at the moment, the temp meter is parked om freezing.

Following day poked around at temp. sensors (did not remove) and later when car was started gouge was back in its normal low reading. Bit of a mystery???
There is a posting on servicing which says problem may be in the PCB. LOOK IT UP.
