hi, the oil filler cap on my 24v is leaking oil. i have cleaned it up, there is no grit etc on the filler hole itself, but it still leaks. only just started doing this since i changed the oil, before it was bone dry. should it have a rubber gasket on it or does it just seat on the taper? also, does anyone have the finis no for it as my local ford dealer says they are no longer stocked.

hi finis no for cap is [2.9 cos] 7167665,which is the same no as for the 2.0/2.3 engine.and they have a rubber seal.hth stan

At least its only rubber. I would be inclined to change the oil and filter again if you cant find it. john.n :)

hi niko 111-just checked oil filler cap and there is no seal .just a taper."my apoligies for that."stan
