I just tried the headlight levelling and from what I see only the offside light is moving up and down.
Any ideas what I am looking at before I dive in and strip stuff out?

edit: just found out that only the drivers side of the front screen clear works... checked the fuse for that side and it's ok... my Scorp is going all right sided.. ???

Has it had a mild stroke ?, I think there is some kind of motor on the back of the headlight, Has the one that is not working got this or has a wire been disconected,trying to think at this time of the morning is hard work so i stand corrected if i am wrong, Think i'll go to bed now.

regarding the windscreen,the tiny wires in the screen itself are notorious for breaking down after a while,the only option is a new screen,most places want about £450.00 (unless your fully comp with screen cover and all that),i did have mine replaced last year by a company called national mobile windscreens (national company,your place or there's),and the cost.....
£178.00 all inclusive.. :D :D :D

Craig's right about the screen. Mine only has about 3 strips working on the driver's side - passenger side's brill, really quick and perfectly clear.
Didn't realise they cost quite that much though :(
£178 is a bit more like it isn't it?

Hmm I have fully comp insurance... I might consider having the screen replaced under that but it would have to have a big chip in it for them to do it.. ;) One to think about I fear...

I'll check the motor behind the nearside headlight later on to see that it's connected, it isn't a "mission critical" error as I can probably easily do without the facility. I only discovered it while "playing with the toys" when I came home in the dark last night. ;D

Ps to last post . The headlights can be a sod to remove/refit, as one of the fittings is in the inner wing. Also you have to remove the bumper to get at another. john.n :)

I think I'll leave it till the weekend to have a look, it was really dark by the time I got home and sorted out.

As I said before it's not something that I need everyday so it can wait a bit. ;D

The headlamp leveling system use two dc controlled motors which operate the spindle for adjustment... I would certainly check the plug connections first and also the motor itself.....The headlamp levelling switch has two stops. The switch engages in switch position "0", the basic setting. In switch setting "5" the headlamps are inclined at their maximum angle.

The voltage - controlled headlamp levelling system operates by means of voltage - controlled DC motors. A variable resistance (potentiometer) in the headlamp levelling switch sets the voltage (setting). Working on the same principle, the control element in the motor defines a voltage according to the position of the adjusting spindle (actual position).The integral electronic circuitry in the system compares the setting (switch position) with the actual position (position of the adjusting spindle). Depending on the voltage difference, the reflectors will be swivelled up or down until the two values match
The basic alignment of the headlamps must always be carried out in switch position '0'.
