Title: Remote
Post by Bill_Crossland on Sep 27th, 2004, 8:42pm
Thanks to the advice on this site I programmed my remote, got all the chimes but still does not work. Is the remote linked to the alarm system in any way. I have noticed that the red light for the alarm on the centre top of the dashboard does not light when turning on the ignition and the alarm does not
activate when locking the car with the Key. I need to clarify this. The central locking works OK off the door key. The remote has no effect whatsoever. What does the remote activate ie what picks up its signal

Check all the fuses as it seems the remote is working just not the Alarm on the car  well worth giving them a check over and the relays ....

I just bought a scorpio 2.0 on Friday, and have a similar problem with the alarm system light not working. I read that the fuse was the same as the cigarette lighter, so I checked and sure enough the fuse was blown. I replaced it, but the light still dosen't flash (but the cigarette lighter now works!!). I wondered if the little light (LED) had gone, so I locked the car (with the window down) and then opened it using the interior handle, and the alarm did indeed work. My guess is therefore that the light must have blown. Trouble is, does anybody know how to change it? Do I have to remove the dash?   ???

It is an LED that is not that bright in daylight and i think you need to replace the cpb that it is fixed to,Have a look when it is dark to make sure it is or is not working.
If it isn't working others may be able to advise on changing etc.
Regards
Richard
