Title: Strange vouncing vibrations
Post by Welshie on Oct 8th, 2004, 8:44pm
not being a very articulate person when describing car problems i hope you guys can help me with this one.

I have a bad vibration when cruising it is coupled with a dronning sound and the vibration is felt thro the steering wheel and floor panel its not what i would call a vibration more of a thumbing or bumbing rythm almost like something circular going around and having a flat spot. guess it a bearing but which one? or is there more to it? its a shame because its at the point where its irratating and spoiling what should be a lovely smooth ride. Hope some one understands what i'm raving on about and can help

best wishes

What speed does it occur?.. In fact it is possible to flat spot the alloy wheels by hiting pot holes and kerbs and that may well be your problem.. You need the wheels off to check them for 'rpundness' and also balance, and that needs to be done on a machine at the tyre fitters...BUT first check all your wheel bearings fronts and rears....
