Title: noise on turning Post by monkfish on Oct 18th, 2004, 12:23pm Hi i have a very strange problem that i would like som help with. when i am driving normally straight the car is fine and quiet. although the is a vibration at 80 mph. but when i steer to the right there is a wining noise and it get worse the more i turn it sounds like a metal on metal grinding, when turning left there is no problem just right. the other day i was turning slowly at full lock and there was a bang and my abs warning light came on. I stopped the car and restarted it and all the lights on the dash went off as per normal even the abs light. Anyone have any ideas on this as i am stumped? TIA |

Title: Re: noise on turning Post by Thunderchild on Oct 18th, 2004, 9:28pm Have you checked the wheel bearings. Got to say that it sounds like one has gone at the front. Jack up the front of the car and make sure that it is secure then taking the top and bottom of the wheel move it back and forwards (top out, bottom in etc) there should be no movement at all. If there is the wheel bearing has gone. HTH Thunderchild |
