Title: Help !! Post by ash on Oct 20th, 2004, 12:36pm ??? Hello , what it is , i have a scorpio 1997 Ghia , and recently ive noticed everytime i go through a carwash , around 20 mins after leaving the carwash , my full beams turn on automatically ?? , If i switch the ignition off , they are still on :o The car has a battery cover , and as far as i can see the drainage holes near both fuseboxes are ok , is water getting in from somewhere ? The covers behind the headlamps are in place and seem to be dry inside when taken off .... cant understand ... any help would be appreciated , thanks .. i definately know its a water problem as if i dont wash the car in ages its ok , but as soon as i wash it , the electricals play up. |

Title: Re: Help !! Post by Richard on Oct 20th, 2004, 1:05pm I had a water problem with mine when i first had it, alarm sounding, all lights on dash lit up etc, It was a broken lug on the main fusebox allowing water to enter from behind the box, To look at it you would not know, I only noticed this when removing the top from the fusebox. |

Title: Re: Help !! Post by Eddie on Oct 20th, 2004, 11:15pm The fuse box in question would be the drivers side box, there should be a rubber seal around the lip of the box that the cover seats on. The cover, being a bit of a sod to locate correctly could be badly seated. eddie |
