the speedo was reading wrong all the time on my 2.0 16v ultima but i did't notice anymore problems,apart from the odd harsh gear change. after advice from the forum had a new vss fitted and the car drove 100% better as well as reading correct speed . took car on m/way today for a try and after about 55 mph engine seemed to be reving to high and not going into overdrive , then the o/d light started to flash, came off m/way and car returned to driving right again , and o/d light stopped flashing . any ideas?

yeah i have seen the page , the maf was cleaned last week and the car run fine and does everything perfect sub 50 mph and no flashing o/d light . only started after new vss fitted before 90 plus was no problem it was just reading wrong speed,and the vss was supplied by main agent and i actually took the old one in to show them?

the new vss is alittle different than the old one ( car is 1994 ), main agent said part had been modified

hi there

50 mph is when the o/d comes on. have you had a obd scan done? if it came up with some error codes, that would narrow it down a bit. could be a faulty solenoid.
