I've had a few calls from Darton (Neil) and he is having problems accessing the site.

He can, with difficulty, get the home page, but all other pages do not seem to be available. He is using Wannado (Freeserve) broadband and cannot even sign on. He doesn't seem to be locked out as a member so it is probably something else. I've tried sending him a mail via the site and that hasn't worked either. Can anyone offer advice as he's getting severe withdrawal symptoms.

i am too on wanadoo and i too have problems logging in and i have been told by other members who have no trouble at all, that its all down to wanadoo.

Thanks Ian. Perhaps it might be worth asking if there is anyone out there who is using wannado without problems.

Is there anyone using Wannado?

Yes this is true unfortunately Wanadoo( Freeserve) seem to have a problem with access to the site, something to do with their DNS servers, despite several phone calls and e-mails they kept fobbing me off saying that they have no problem accessing site on their PC's and that the DNS servers have nothing to do with it "it is a problem with your PC settings and not our's" is what they told me. I got so fed up with Wanadoo i had to take drastic action even though i had been with Freeserve since they first started.

So i changed to Telewest Blueyonder Broardband 1.5 meg, really fast and reliable can access the site in about 0.5 of a second, download speeds are unbelieveable, can download 2G files in approx 1hr.

Thanks Fitzy. I don't think Neil is going to like this as he has only just upgraded to broadband after years with freeserve. Sadly, it's about the only thing that fits the symptoms.

Perhaps someone should start a site for unhappy Wannado users...

P.S. The **** disc is very useful.

Hi there I also am on Wanadoo and its their problem NOT ours.. the trouble is it prevents you from logging on with the forum and the site..... If you are on broadband then keep on logging off and on until you find a server that has updated all the DNS stuff.. The problem is they use server address very close together and if one fails the other seems to as well ... I am keeping a log of all the IP addresses they allocate to me which don't work and then email them off the Wanadoo... I will changing very soon to something else more reliable..
You can also keep emailing Tech support with the problem but I doubt if they wil do very much.. Like most things with Wanadoo...

Its always someone elses problem!

thats why i changed to AOL last year get fedup with problems all the time with wanapoo waste of time as an isp

If it's just broadband you want then you could ask those nice Aardvaak people. Worked for me... ;D ;D ;D

I'm on AOL too. I know a lot of people slate it, but I've been on it for years and never had a problem.
Going broadband was a good move too.

i've found on a mates pc with wanadoo, if you use the http://fordscorpio.info site, then use the link for the forum, it will work that way. of course, this might have been a one off! :)

so who did you phone,and what was the problem,i'm sure others would love to know,as other members are having similar problems..........
bone of contention this is with freeserve/wannadoo...
