Title: A/c blower fan on permanently
Post by DB on Nov 12th, 2004, 8:08pm
I have read all of the linked topics but have not been able to identify this particular fault. My a/c blower is always on at high speed regardless of whether the a/c button is on or off; the fan control is on fan, auto or turned fully anti-clockwise to "off". (only when turned fully clockwise is there is a small increase in fan speed. )The temperature of the incoming air still increases and decreases as the temperature control(s) are altered but the fan speed does not vary. I had some fuse box problems which after drying and WD40 have cured themselves but this problem did not exist when the lighting problems associated with the fuse box did? I have read all the posted topics on HBC's etc and done a CC reset but would really appreciate some advice before replacing HBC etc.

I only found this site last week and am amazed at the advice and the access to manuals etc.  Any help much appreciated.

David

Hi David,
Sounds very much like the fan circuit is running to earth somewhere. I'd have a look at your fusebox again before you change anything.
Good luck!  :)

hi there

you could do a hard system reset by disconnecting the battery for 10 mins. remember you need the radio code and that everything will be reset at the same time like the engine ecu, one shot window etc.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like a reset at the weekend, more WD40 and wire twiddling. I will let you know what happens.
