Title: aircon failure
Post by maddshooter on Nov 17th, 2004, 1:31pm
The aircon on my 2.0l 16v packed in a short while ago but due to being off the road I had'nt investigated as to why.
Today I found that the system had lost it's 'gas' and that the pump is siezed .
The cause was that the alloy type pipework comming out of the bulkhead had been rubbed against the dip stick tube for the engine oil and had worn a small hole.
The clearance is very small between these parts and  may just be on my scorp but I recon you should check yours just in case.
Help please! Does anyone have an aircon pump and pipework available ?
Regards , Chris.

Thanks Scorpio man ,

exactly what was needed and sorted with a phone call. Only across to Kent for collection and then the fun part of stripping out fitting and getting regased.
Hope my warning about the pipes chaffing will help prevent trouble for someone else.

Regards , chris.
