Title: alarm / remote has it locked ?
Post by trevsestate on Nov 21st, 2004, 4:33pm
got a 2.0 16v auto estate 1995 with remote key fob locking and unlocking.remote works fine it locks and unlocks ok and sets the alarm.the only annoying thing is that there is no visual indication that the car is locked i.e indicators flash on locking would be good. is it normal that there is no visual indication or is something not quite right?

Apart from the interior lights coming on  it seems that  is it .  I  too  would like a  beep of the  horn  or  a  flash  of  the  indicators   to  indicate  successful   locking/unlocking .   It  is  an  annoying  oversight.

If you press the 'Lock' button twice, this should activate the deadlocks which should then make the indicators flash.
There's not a lot of indication for unlocking though.
You might want to consider the global closing modification carried out by many on here (myself included). This sorts out the problem.

Have a read of this old topic... Global Closing/Lock-On-Go mod (http://forum.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1096112444)

you can also get the car re-programmed at ford to do the visual stuff, however what ford will charge to do this, you might as well (as paul has already stated),go for the global closing mod,a lot better value for money..
oh,and there is the pose factor ;) ;) ;)
