Problems with sunroof jamming. Main prob seems to be the seal seating where the join is on the rear edge. It feels like rust under the seal is stopping it from seating properly and hence it's a bit proud.

Has anyone pulled this seal off? how's it located? is there metal under it to rust?

There is indeed metal to rust under there. And it does :(

Mine was the same, but ever since I pulled the seal off to 'fix' it, it's never been the same since.

I've got a whole replacement roof panel to swap it over, but since having it, I've not yet found the time or dry weather to do the job.

Not the answer I wanted to hear but the answer I feared.

I'm afeared to take the seal off because if it's in a channel like it seems like I can't think of any way to remount it.

Looks like a "leave it until it's really serious" priblem.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news there mate.
The seal is kind of like a door seal with the metal 'U'shape to it. Trouble with mine was that the rust bubble on the roof panel had caught hold of the metal inside the seal. Then, once I'd taken it off, the 'U' shape had spread open but would return to its proper shape. So it doesn't really hold on properly (does that make sense?)
