My 95 scorpio 24v has non-working speedo which appears to affect 1 to 2 gearchange, which is slow, is this expensive or serious problem?

Could be the VSS on gearbox ,but i had similar problem earlier this year and replaced mine in error ,my fault was the MAF was dirty so i would give that a clean up first its the easist and cheapest job if it works -details are on main site

This would at first guess appear to be the vss which has ceased working... there was a thread on here a short time ago about the very same thing... NOT expensive to fix quite an easy DIY job ... it bolts onto the side of the gear box (Nearside) ... It may well be worth checking the plug that goes into it first for security and contnuity...
