Hi chappies..

I'd be pleased if someone would point me in the right direction to sort out these little problems...

Box.. not all the time but a little slow selecting D (3 seconds), and when cold D initially gives me what i'd call 'clutch slip' going off the drive. Can be slow to react to kick down and

Diff ? Got a high pitch speed related whine from the rear.

front.. got an intermittant knocking from the suspension or steering bushes.. usual culprit ??

internal.. no interior door lights or puddle lights come on or can be turned on.

radio.. has lights but can't turn on.

MPG it says 22mpg !! This can't be right as my wifes 1.2 corsa does 50mpg LOL

Box.... check fluid first. If its a bit low, it can give these symptoms.

Diff.... sounds like it may be a wheel bearing, possibly :-/

Front suspension... could be all sorts of things - maybe wishbone bushes (difficult-ish), anti-roll bar bushes (easy).

Internal lights... check the 'power save' fuse in the auxilliary fuse box (fuse 36) Its almost definitely that.

Radio... is the removable panel properly clicked in? If it is, are the contacts ok on it?

MPG... erm..... yeah, thats probably right!

Many thanks Paul i'll get straight onto them.

regards the bushes/bearings.. the local garage is checking all age/wear related stuff and replacing bushes as necessary. Plus ford is looking into the history they may have related to the car.

22mpg... wow be honoured.. mine is never better than 12 usually 6 to 8.
Can't help with the lights an stuff...

Mind you I never do more than 6 miles to an from work in heavy traffic.

Diff oil was/is a little low. About 10mm below the 'min' mark so that will be sorted 2moro. Checked with warm engine, selected R, 1, 2, D etc then into P.

Radio and lights was indeed a fuse on the rhs and all is sorted with a new 10a fuse robbed from the mrs's corsa :)
