Title: Re: speedo fault Post by Snoopy on Dec 16th, 2004, 7:21pm Try doing an instrument reset..... Hold the trip button in until the instruments go into test /diagnostic mode.... then switch off and after a couple of seconds restart... needles should flick over to Max and then return to normal.... http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/instreset.htm Will tell you all the diagnostics |

Title: Re: speedo fault Post by Snoopy on Dec 16th, 2004, 10:09pm There is one last thing you can try before fitting a new dash board and that is do a HARD reset.. Dsiconect the battery for 1/2 hour or so and then reconect.. that might cure al but it does sound doubtful..... I knwo some people on here have removed the perspex fromnt of the dash and done a speedo reset that way... but I do not from personal experience know how difficult that is...... The speedo is all part of the dash and the whole lot has to be replaced unlike the old grannies.... |

Title: Re: speedo fault Post by predator666 on Dec 18th, 2004, 5:30pm I have found out that the reason needle was in wrong position is that panel had been inverted at sometime in its life, dont know how, anyway I removed it and "tipped" the needle in right position and Bingo, speedo working again. |
