I get 18-20mpg around town and 24-26mpg on a run and thats for a 2.9 12v auto.

Economy is not the Scorpio's strong point! ;D

Talking about petrol ,  when did  the price dip below 80p?  last time I filled up it was 83p , yesterday at Tescos   it was  79.5.

Whoop-de-doo!!

   Could this be the start of the road to  equalisation with our Stateside Allies, can it be true ?

 yes, petrol  at 28p a Litre.

Yes floppy petrol is going to be 28p/ltr within the next week and stay there for good.  YEAH RIGHT !!!

Tony blairs got wars and mansions to finance you know.

My 24v has averaged 18.9mpg over the last 2 tanks.

Go on a diet - aim to get down to about 5 stone and NEVER carry passengers or the wifes shopping, NEVER put more than £2 worth of petrol in at a time, always make sure your tyre pressures are set at about 40/45 psi, remove all excess weight - back seats, air con system, dashbulbs, clothes etc, don't bother putting any water in the washer bottle it ony adds to the weight. Ensure none of your brakes are binding slightly by removing them altogether. Filling your tyres with helium might help as this is actually lighter than air. remove the jack and spare wheel. By doing all this I now average about 35-40mpg in my 24v Cossie.

Honestly -  ;) ;)

And don't forget to plan your routes so that it's downhill in both directions for return journeys.
::)
