Title: Nasty smell Post by Robby on Dec 23rd, 2004, 12:08am When my '96 ultima 2.3 has been left overnight it smells funny for the frst few seconds in the morning, bit like the decaying mouse smell any cat owners may know. It goes away soon after the engine is started and some air gets moving, and doesn't seem to be as strong if I have a/c turned off for the previous journey. So I assume this is bacteria in the a/c, i've heard about it one some other forum back in the mists of time. Does anyone know if it is likely to be this, and how I can cure it? |

Title: Re: Nasty smell Post by scorpio_man on Dec 23rd, 2004, 6:56am hi there have a read through the a/c menu. http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/acindex.htm start by cleaning the drain tubes and changing the pollen filtters (should be every 6 months). jetex filters come with a spray for the system....about £20 if i remember correctly. let us know how you get on. |

Title: Re: Nasty smell Post by Robby on Dec 23rd, 2004, 8:10pm Drains cleared, they were a bit dirty. Treated it with a comma spray, just like the forte one but sold in halfords. So I'll see if it starts to smell when the cleaner smell has worn off. |
