Please can anybody tell me where to find the lights on warning sound (modular?) not sure if that would be the correct term .

My 1998 ultima is not warning me when the drivers door is open that
1/ The lights have been left on
2/ The automatic selector has not been left in the Parking postion

"Hoping both are linked in some way" ?????

Had the lights problem on a previous model 1995 Ghia Estate
Guy at ford changed some part not sure if that was
95gg14k150ab ? cost £27.20

Any help would be appreciated

there is a black box with a speaker grill aperture down by the steering column left side by your feet have had this go myself box is common on most scorps scrappie should have it bye des...........

Does the interior lights still come on, opening the drivers door? If so this will iliminate the 'door open' swich.

hi Desperate.

Yes the internal lights are working as normal.

It is the main car lights and parking postion ( P ) warning sound that is not working when drivers door is open.

Just can be a problem in the day time leaving main lights then comming back to flat battery.

hi Des
Found the box with speaker grill with one sealed lead going in to, do you open this box and replace?
Or do you find the over end of the lead from this speaker type box and change the unit there?
i.e. is there a box under the dash that needs changing
the box i am looking at looks just like a little speaker box.
I can take a photos of the box I am looking at and send to you to cofirm if same box you changed if thats ok des with you.

Hi any body looking at the pic on my profile would be able to tell me if this is the box to change to get back the warning sound for light left on and car not left in the park postion

Update
Taken off part number 95GG14K150BA
(THAT WAS FITTED TO THE CAR )
went to Fords to replace same part number and they tell me that this part is discontinued ?
As the Light Warning has never worked I asked if the could check what part should be fiited as the CAR is only a 1998 model,
They tell me that it should have been part number F1026451 on this car.
On order now will inform if it correct's the errors tomorrow some time

Ok
New correct part fitted today still same problem no warning sound on leaving car with lights left on or not in the park position. ( blast )
I now understand that this multi functional elect timer with sound is not the problem.

Controls the intermittent wipers only
The memory seat function noise
Not sure of anything else but should think the internal light delay system.

Does any one now were to look next please would there be a relay in the fuse box that a common problem??

Any help would be appreciated

hi there

have you check fuse 36?

you could try.....
switch on ignition.
hold in heated rear windscreen button for 10/15 seconds.
you should hear a beep (if i remember correctly)
start engine and let go of the button.
this puts the timer module into diagnostic mode.
try each door in turn, then windscreen wipers etc (anything with a time delay). see if you get a responce (beep) each time. this might narrow it down a bit.

OK now.

1/ Fuse 36 was sound
2/ So check as you said mate and found

Found drivers door relay wanted to be earthed better for some reason.

Used some silver foil for now will sort out later but thanks again mate
