Car starts ok and runs perfectly when warm, but try to pull off straight from cold and it stalls, needs 2-3 minutes before its ok.

Any one any ideas.

Look at and check the ICV.... it is the cause of many of these sorts of problems on the 12v.. worth taking it apart the air intake and cleaning inside...... where the butterflys are ... and checking the operation of the throttle mechanism.
