My car has done a lot of short journies recently and I'm taking it on a long run on the weekend (200miles +). I'm considering using a fuel cleaning agent like STP (can you still get this product?) to give the fuel system a clean out. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to use or what not to use please.

Any of the normal fuel injector cleaners are OK to use.. there is a topic about fuel on here somewhere ...
I used to use injecter cleaner on a regular basis but since changing to Optimax fuel I have stoped using it.... But it doesn't do any harm put a full bottle in to start with and fill the tank...just runs quite normallly.. but I did find a difference after a short time of doing it...

Cataclean made my 24v Granada a different car..

hi Danny
put 98 percent nitro methane in and the car will go like the clapper and then melt, (lots of fun till it does though)

or you could try Aldon octane booster it will take the ron rating to 106 and I think its lead free so it wont mess the cat up, Halfords did sell it but not sure know ,
I think redx do a good one ,but always make sure u can use them with a cat ,hope this helps .
