Title: rear hub! Post by OHC on Jan 19th, 2005, 7:14am hello! My mechanics discovered that both rear wheels wobble when the car is jacked up! They advised to replace both rear wheel bearings. I was surpriced - no strange sounds and both bearings rarely die at the same time! I decide to check main hub nuts! They were scarcely hand tightened! The clue was simple: during replacing both rear lower arms (bad roads here in Russia!) the same mechanics applied torque wrench but no thread compound! I can't afford to replace bearings immediately, so for time being I've retigten both nuts! Hope it helps for some time! Best regs, OHC |

Title: Re: rear hub! Post by Simmo on Aug 3rd, 2005, 8:08pm After re-fitting these nuts should be checked after about 500 miles, Perhaps less if the roads are bad. You could be lucky if the car hasn't done too many miles. Good luck. |
