Title: igniton lights on with no key ?????? Post by gaz01gaz on Jan 27th, 2005, 4:44pm 1994 2.0 16v,,recently went through car wash,approx 20 mins later,fogs came on????then alarm set off???eventually dash lights on ie ign light, control panel,odometer etc all on with no key in ??? then no action with key in and no starting when turning key,,early suspicions point to fuse box,,is this a good guess,,please help ??? ???which side fuse box ????? |

Title: Re: igniton lights on with no key ?????? Post by Paul B on Jan 27th, 2005, 5:27pm Fuse box is a blinding guess. Pretty much, almost definitely, without question it (or they) have got wet. As I say, it could be either one at fault or maybe even both. I think the auxilliary one (on the passenger side is most likely though. This could take some time to dry out naturally, especially at this time of year. The best plan could be to partly dismantle and get in there with a hair dryer (on a warm heat) to dry things out. 2 things... I presume you had a battery/fuse box cover fitted? If not, get one right away. And... car washes are very bad news for a Scorpio. Not advised at all. Do it by hand. |
