Title: Alarm Madness!!!!
Post by grahamtou on Feb 1st, 2005, 9:22am
Hi ...........I have the following problem and even after
reading just about all posts here on alarms am no wiser, hope one of you can help me out.

When I unlock my drivers door with the key........yep you have
guessed it..........the alarm goes off..........all doors
do unlock though and most times the 30 seconds go by
with the alarm hooting and me playing with the key trying
to turn it off.........now and again I do have luck and I
manage to get it turned off after only a few hoots!!!.

From the info here on the site it seems that there is a micro switch around the lock. Can one adjust this in anyway?..........and is it easy to change?........and can
one disable the alarm easily?

Thanks in advance to anyone of you who find the time
to give me a few hints..........and greetings from cold
,wet Germany

Hi,

we had similar problems with our Ford alarm (it was down to another aftermarket alarm messing with it) but we stopped the horn hooting by pulling the wire off the horn siren. The siren is behind the battery, and is one single wire. The alarm system will still be active, but the horn will not sound. This does not affect the car's normal horn on the steering wheel. This is all assuming your car in Germany is using the same alarm system and setup as our UK car.

Can't help much with the actual fault I am afraid but this will, at least, silence the alarm while you work it out  :)

Cheers
