Anyone got a clue about this, put new batteries in (twice) reprogramme and works great. Following day dead as a dodo. Have cleaned all contacts so anyone any ideas.

Had this problem recently , turns out that the the contact area on the underside of the three buttons which is coated with conductive paint , sometimes loses it's effectiveness through age, dirt or just plain cussedness .

You can stick little pieces of metal foil on the contacts with Superglue ( very fiddly ) or just buy Conductive Paint ( available from Maplins £4.99) and apply.
