Hi guys,my speedo shows incorrect miles per hour when cold and the gear change is lumpy.When car is warm after about 5 minutes the speedo shows correct speed and the lumpy gear changes stop ive been told its the speed sensor on the auto gear box do you agree or any other ideas cheers.

Yes this sounds very much like the speed sensor.

I found an ideal way to check the VSS is to turn the AVC (Automatic Volume Control) on the radio to MAX (assuming you have a Ford stereo). The volume of the radio should increase steadily as you increase MPH. If it remains low or the volume gets very erratic, this is normally a good indication the speed sensor is on its way out.
