Title: Incoreect Speedo
Post by tosh_0705 on Feb 7th, 2005, 4:06pm
I have a 95 plate Scorpio 12v V6, the current mph display is incorrect, I've checked it out with a mate and it seems its about 10 mph out, so i'm doing 40 and it tells me I'm doing 30!! Dangerours for those speed cameras!!  Also the rev counter flickers all over the place after about 2,000 revs.

Has anyone got any ideas?

If its not the VSS then it has to be the wiring loom but the VSS is the best place to start... you could also check the multi plugs into the PCB on the back of the speedo ..

I had a speedo that was all over the place a couple of years ago and the VSS was replaced and that cured it all.

All the info is on the main site as how to replace the vss but its a relatively easy DIY job on the 12v  ... I know 'cause I 've got one as well.
