Title: Why Are The Carpets Such Poor Quality
Post by Ford-Son-Major on Feb 10th, 2005, 1:53am
I have noticed the carpet has split near to the transmission tunnel and floor on both the drivers and passengers footwells.

The car is a 97 Ultima Estate 24v 87k miles with black/grey carpets and No water leaks in the footwells.

Has any members had similar problems? Or is it just fords best Wilton..

The carpet is about half the thickness of the ones fitted in my Audi 200 Quattro..

Do the carpets from the Saloon fit the estate? They look similar.

Appreciate you response

Sadly the carpets shrink after a soaking and shrink, creating voids. This allows feet to eventually go through the void. Happened to mine in the rear, either side of the tunnel. I have not yet sourced a replacement, dread to think what Mr Ford wants.

Would any one know if the carpets from the saloon fit the estate or are they different in the rear footwells?
