Title: Re: BROKEN PASSENGER DOOR LOCK Post by daven on Feb 10th, 2005, 4:32pm Sorry to hear your troubles mate! Not changed a lock before just the handle! Not too bad - but you have to take the door card off (as if you didn't know! ;) ), this gives you access, then there is a cover over the lock - then it gets a bit fiddly with the connector between the handle and the lock! Wish I could help more! Dave |

Title: Re: BROKEN PASSENGER DOOR LOCK Post by Eddie on Feb 10th, 2005, 4:50pm Is it the Rear passenger side lock?? Mine did the same. Sadly that was several years ago and I cant remember which bit it was that packed up. I am sure it wasnt a major part. You are going to have to remove the door card anyway,so whip it off and have a look to see which bit has gone. AHA! just found the invoice, part no6933257-rear door lock assembly ,38.16 pounds. It was a broken spring in the assembly, not available seperately!! The hook part of the latch wasnt engaging with the assembly on the door pillar, just rattling about. HTH Eddie Not neccesarily your problem but it sounds similar. |

Title: In the meantime... Post by Dave on Feb 10th, 2005, 5:49pm Eek what a terrible problem. Do you have a garage or something? If not, in the mean time I have a suggestion from the Dave book of botch jobs. A length of thin rope, tied to each front door handle, secured using back door access (ooh)... http://tinypic.com/1p79f7 |
