Title: middle of steering (airbag/horn ) loose Post by music_master on Feb 13th, 2005, 5:41pm hi all i have a problem with the centre of my steering cos its come loose i see the torque screws behind the wheel to tighten back up as suggested by a couple of members from the site but i cant tighten them do torque screws have an outer edge to them ie like a starr ve had to use blu tac to stop it from dropping down on 1 side cos the other side has the screwswould i have to but a new steering wheel cheers mm |

Title: Re: middle of steering (airbag/horn ) loose Post by Simmo on Feb 13th, 2005, 6:13pm Are you sure you have located the correct screws?, To access the securing screws the steering wheel needs to be turned through 180degrees. If you can lift the front wheels off the ground that helps and takes the strain off the power steering rack. If they are Torx screws,cant remember,then yes they have an outer edge and as they are recessed into the underside of the unit the correct size screwdriver is needed to access them. HTH. |
