hi, i had this on one of my cars, it was the filter to the washer bottle, since my car was in for service the ford main dealer only wanted £12 to remove the bottle. and clean and put everything in good order so i told them to do it.
the jets hit the windscreen with much force now.
give me till tomorrow to dig out the paperwork. i seem to remember to get the bottle out it mentioned that a inner spash shield had to be removed. not qite sure which they are on about.
will look out paperwork tomorrow.

i had the same prob, does the motor turn? i had the motor spinning, but no water from the jets. i pulled the motor out of the bottle and all the water came out (make sure you got a pan underneath) alonng with some gooey yuck, the filter was also bunged up so i blew that out then pushed it all back together and filled up. job was a good un. two bolts at the top (10mm) and one at the bottom behind the inner arch i think. but you don't need to remove them to do the above de gunge.

hi to low_tom.
The other cars I got work but nothing like the power of the one the Ford Main Dealer did.
I would like to clean these filters out as well myself.
So you don't need to remove the inner shield whatever that is.
How do you pull the motor out of the bottle with the bottle still in position. Do you mean after taking the bottle off the car.
I will go tomorrow to have a look again as to where these 10mm bolts are.

the motor is held in by rubber o-ring that seals and retains the motor in the bottom of the bottle. my car is the 2.0,and i presume that the washer bottle is in the same place on all,in the front of the engin.e bay on the drivers side.  the top 2 10mm bolts are easy to get at,but the bottom is tricky. it was when i was trying to get at that one that i gave the motor a good tug and it came out.

Had this problem with ours, no need to take bottle out, you can get to motor/pump from behind front bumper, drivers side, just a push fit. Carefully ease out, rubber/filter may or may come with pump, but easily removed - that's when you get the wet arm!!!!

Flush out tank, clean filter and replace - apparently 'slime' is caused if washing up liquid been used - reacts with screenwash apparently

Hi all, Once again this site has come up trumps  ::) for someone like me who is still learning the difference between a spanner and a screw driver  :-/ (not quite that bad) Followed the advice of Low_Tom and also what Pam and John said and the washers now work, when I removed the motor and then the rubber filter the latter had a green gluey stuff in it completely blocking the screen wash from going to the motor, washed it out put it back together and bingo it works  8)
The only trouble I had was my right arm got soaked like I was warned earlyer.
              Cheers and thank you
                             Shaun I.........
