Title: handbrake shaft removal
Post by low_tom on Feb 16th, 2005, 9:24pm
again,i've checked the info already on the site, but can't find any reference to removing the handbrake actuator shaft from the caliper, and guess what, that's what i've got trouble removing. Anyone offer any advice as to how to get em out please? It's doing my nut in cos i can't take the subframe  off til i get the cable free from the caliper  :-/

Are you talking about these......?

You need to slacken off the adjustment of the handbrake cable so that there's loads of play in it. Then, you should be able to un-hook the cable ends from the caliper.

The actuator arms are removable. I almost did it, but I think you're asking for trouble if you do take them out.
