any one recomend an auto box bod to recon 2.0l auto box in cheshire

hi wumpster a polar ford dealer near me recommended carvers in stockport they specialize in auto boxes they told me when i asked for a quote regarding my auto box cos they said they could not do it for me hope this may help regards music master

Wumpster,

I have heard of Carvers (or is it Carver Brothers?) in Stockport, they were recommended to me by a trusted mechanic that I have used for a while - he sends all his autobox work there. I have not used them myself but they are meant to be good.

Gentlemen,

the above contact information IS accurate for Carvers.

In addition my mechanic said they have been busy recently so he has also suggested using the following:

Tameside Transmissions
Albert Street
Droylsden
Manchester
M43 7BA
0161 371 0422

Apparently both companies are good and offer warranties on their work.

Just to reiterate - I have no personal experience of these companies but Carver has been recommended to me on more than one occasion. Both companies are listed in the Yellow Pages, and on www.yell.com.

I will PM this too to make sure you get it.

never thougt of thameside used them once for a diff on me merc they were very good thanks dave ;D

Hi everyone ;)
Took the car in yesterday to my local gearbox man (have dealt with him for years) for gearbox service and a look into possible fittment of auxillary oil cooler, anyhow, apparently unawares to him and me and also maybe you, it turns out that filter in the box was changed from 1998 so please be aware. Now re-scheduled for next week for both service and oil cooler. :)
