Title: Part left after fooling around (picture) Post by mzziaz on Mar 24th, 2005, 10:42am The other day I was doing some work in the engine compartment. When I was finished, a part suddenly apperared on top of the engine. Only problem is that I don't have a clue where it fits. ??? Does anyone reconize the part? http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid162/pa0360acbf042176202f4b3658b6c0f04/f4b9ca49.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid162/pd85e600d8d5b1024d33250af29bda668/f4b9ca4b.jpg |

Title: Re: Part left after fooling around (picture) Post by mr._floppy on Mar 24th, 2005, 5:41pm Bulkhead , It's the dividing wall between the passenger compartment and the engine compartment. A nautical term I believe , although the word Wall is descriptive enough. |

Title: Re: Part left after fooling around (picture) Post by Danny_R on Mar 25th, 2005, 9:29pm It looks like the drain flap that allows water to drain from underneath the battery. To my knowledge there is only one of these and that is at the front/underneath the battery box. HTH Danny_R |

Title: Re: Part left after fooling around (picture) Post by mzziaz on Mar 26th, 2005, 8:42am OK, thank a lot for the advices. :D I will take a look later today and try to fit it either on the bulkhead or underneath the battery box. Actually, my native term (norwegian) for bulkhead is "torpedo wall", directly translated. Don't have a clue why. ::) And, LOL. I might not be the most mechanical skilled guy on the planet, but I even I woun't be silly enough to try to force the part on the back of the computer. ;D Have a nice Easter, people. |

Title: Re: Part left after fooling around (picture) Post by Boblavens on Apr 5th, 2005, 2:03pm Mzziaz The term could come from the very strong plating sometimes used in the old warships in an attempt to reduce the damage caused by a torpedo! Bob |
