Hi All

I cleaned the MAF on my TD yesterday and took it for a spin its an automatic.

As I drove off I suddenly got a loud ticking noise coming up from somewhere in the engine. As I pressed harder on the peddle noise became louder with not much happening. Then suddenly a huge jet of black smoke poured out of the exaust and power was fine. Car drove ok changed up. Got to a traffic light and stopped. Pulled away and same as before, no power till about 25000 revs then black smoke and lots of it then OK.

Any idea's . Could I have damaged the MAF when cleaning it, I have to say the TD MAF is nothing like the one for the peterol engine, cleaned it with carb cleaner.

If anyone can give me some advise then please do.
