Title: engine de/acceleration
Post by Octavian_P on Apr 2nd, 2005, 8:51pm
First i want to say helloo to all !

I want you're opinion on something that seems starge to me. A few weeks ago i had a fuse/PATS problem, i also got the batery out. I know that the EECV resets and re-learns to work properly in the first 8 KM, but from then i've made about 70 KM and something strage is happening, that wasn't feeling so before. When i take my foot of the gas, the car brakes losing speed, if i put it in neutral it keeps it's speed...so it's not from the brakes. Also when accelerating the instant gas milege shows something like 30-40-50 Liters/ KM. This is happening in 1, 2, and 3-rd gear, otherwise at constant speed it stayies at about 7 - 14 Liters/KM (depending on speed). I have manual gearbox. Also in the first 8 KM i've kind of drove it  like doing quarter miles.

Any ideeas, is it normal ???

i've forgot to add that there's also a delay in acceleration from when i push the pedal to when the engine actualy revs, otherwise it works great, lots of power at all revs. Engine is a 2.3 L 16V DOHC
